Dr Goutham Sivasuthan

Dr Goutham Sivasuthan is a highly skilled Australian-trained General and Endoscopic Surgeon committed to delivering exceptional patient care. With extensive training in tertiary hospitals across Queensland, he has broad experience managing complex surgical cases in Upper GI, Colorectal and Hepatobiliary surgery.

A graduate of the University of Queensland with degrees in Medicine and Biomedical Science, Dr Sivasuthan completed his residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital before gaining further experience in Bundaberg and Mackay. His regional practice inspired a strong commitment to rural healthcare, which he continues through his work with the Flying Surgical Service.

He went on to complete rigorous General Surgery training, developing advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy and colonoscopy. After achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), Dr Sivasuthan undertook additional fellowship training in upper gastrointestinal and general surgery at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, specialising in reflux and hiatal hernia surgery.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Sivasuthan is dedicated to education and research. He lectures at the University of Queensland and Griffith University, teaches registrars as a college instructor and works as a Staff Specialist with Metro South Health. He consults privately at the Springwood Health Hub.
